The evolution of the disc wheel on the road has never had a development dedicated to the search for “marginal gain”.
The market is not sufficient to support the research and investment that TOOT ENGINEERING wanted to bring to the ALIEN project by designing new shapes optimized by wind tunnel tests and the experience of international athletes in track races.

TRIPOD is a monocoque three-spoke wheel with a UDROP® rim profile that takes the section over 30mm, offering an open surface designed to keep the flow away from the spokes and fast rotating parts. In this way, a 21% reduction in aerodynamic resistance is obtained compared to a trispoke with a linear profile rim, obtaining a performance very similar to a front lenticular wheel but more drivable and less subject to side winds.

The visible TeXtreme® 12K carbon construction also enhances the use of composite materials of technical and aesthetic value forgotten by the industrial world.
