For more than four years, TOOT RACING technicians have been experimenting with different solutions regarding drivetrain performance. Experimental data collected in the laboratory demonstrates that the efficiency of the drivetrain on the track bike can even approach 90%. This means that 10% of the pedal power does not reach the wheel due to mechanical deformation or friction.
The designers’ choice after many comparative tests rewarded large diameter chainrings to reduce friction and minimize the polygonal effect of the chain. The Ergal used is of the aerospace category and the hard oxidation treatment represents the best ally for traction efficiency.
